Short Film ‘Magical Piano' the outcome of finest storytelling contest in country 'Kahani Master' by Toonz Animation has won the UNESCO Salon Youth Video Competition 2016.
Salon Films chairman Fred Wang and Armelle Arrou, chief of public relations and partnerships, UNESCO, presented the award to Dr Avaneesh, head of development, Toonz Media Group, in Marrakech, Morocco.
"It is indeed a delight to know that our short film won an award in this amazing competition which upholds such sublime values. Our youth videos have won many awards in the past at the Chicago Film Festival, Cartoons on the Bay and so on. Yet, this one is very special and truly close to our heart," Toonz CEO P Jayakumar said.
Created in association with the Toonz-Disney collaborative venture Kahaani Masters, 'Magical Piano is about a child who receives a magical piano for his birthday. Using the magic of music, the young protagonist goes own to clean the planet and then the entire universe making it a cleaner and happier place to live.
'Kahaani Masters' was a story writing contest organised to discover the finest story tellers in the country. This prize-winning story was written by Mayul Verma, an upper primary student from Agra. The Salon Youth Video Competition was established by Salon Films, with the support of UNESCO, to promote and encourage the younger generation to take part in sustainable development, billed the biggest challenge of the twenty-first century.
